Samson Koletkar (aka Mahatma Moses) is a true global citizen with a rich and diverse background. Born in Mumbai and raised Jewish, he spent most of his childhood burning the midnight oil to earn a Masters Degree in Computer Software and fulfill his parents' dreams.

Driven by a thirst for adventure and new opportunities, Samson moved halfway across the world to San Francisco - the technology headquarters and a hotbed for emerging comics. In his debut year, Samson Koletkar was a finalist in the Rooster T Feather's Amateur comedy Competition. Since then, his remarkable talent has been acknowledged with several accolades, including winning the International Society of Humor Studies Comedy Competition and the Asian American Theater Company Comedy Competition. He was also a semi-finalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition. 

Samson Koletkar is a highly acclaimed comedian who has headlined the Mahatma Moses Comedy Tour and You're Funny But You Don't Look Jewish Tour. He has also been a featured performer on other renowned comedy tours, including the Funatical Comedy Tour, Make Chai Not War, Pundits with Punchlines, and Sultans of Satire.

He is the co-founder and visionary behind Desi Comedy Fest, the biggest South Asian Comedy Festival in America, which has played a major role in promoting South Asian comedy in America.

Samson Koletkar is also the proud founder of Comedy Oakland, which he established in May 2009. Since then, the weekly comedy shows have become a staple in the community and have won the "Best Comedy Night" award in the East Bay Express Reader's Poll six times between 2016 and 2022. Every week, Samson curates a lineup of the best working comedians from the industry, providing audiences with a hilarious night of entertainment.

In addition to his impressive comedy tours, his talent and wit have earned him an impressive array of media appearances, including features on NBC, CBS, NDTV, NPR, SF Chronicle, The Times of India, Indian Express, India West, India Currents, Ha'aretz, Asian Jewish Life, jWeekly, and more. 

With his sharp wit, infectious energy, and passion for comedy, Samson Koletkar has become a beloved figure in the industry and a force to be reckoned with. He continues to inspire and entertain audiences worldwide, pushing the boundaries of comedy and challenging the status quo with his unique and hilarious perspective.
